Meet Kerr County
A Beautiful Place to Be ... In the Heart of the Texas Hill Country
Kerr County is located 65 miles northwest of San Antonio, just off Interstate 10. As of the 2020 census, the county had a population of 52,598. It was named by Joshua D. Brown for his fellow Kentucky native, James Kerr, a congressman of the Republic of Texas.
First settled as a working camp focused on the making of shingles, the area has thrived through the years to include many vocations and industries.
