216th District Court

Due to flooding at the Kerr County Courthouse, the 216th District Court has announced the following schedule and venues for this week:

Monday, July 20 -- 8:30 a.m. at the Municipal Courtroom, 365 Clearwater Paseo in Kerrville
Tuesday July 21 -- 9 a.m. at the Municipal Courtroom, 365 Clearwater Paseo in Kerrville
Wednesday July 22 -- 9 a.m. at the JP #2 Courtroom, 400 Clearwater Paseo in Kerrville
Thursday, July 23 -- 9 a.m. at the JP #2 Courtroom, 400 Clearwater Paseo in Kerrville

198th District Court

The 198th District Court is convening in Bandera most of this week.

Future times and locations for both will be announced when they are set.

The District Courts are the trial courts of general jurisdiction of Texas. The geographical area served by each court is established by the Legislature, but each county must be served by at least one District Court. In sparsely populated areas of the State, several counties may be served by a single District Court, while an urban county may be served by many District Courts.

District Courts have original jurisdiction in felony criminal cases, divorce cases, cases involving title to land, election contest cases and civil matters in which the amount of money or damages involved is $200 or more.
