*** TAX OFFICE BACK IN COURTHOUSE ***

The Kerr County's Tax Assessor-Collector's Office has successfully relocated back to the Kerr County Courthouse, 700 Main Street in Kerrville, and is once again serving citizens from Suite 124 on the first floor.

Please note that public access to the courthouse is limited to only those offices that have officially reopened to the public on the main floor. CLOSED still to the public are the facility's lower level and second floor.

Temporary Exemption-Property Damaged by Disaster

Property owners who experienced at least 15% damage are entitled to file for a Temporary Exemption for Qualified Property Damaged by Disaster. 

This pertains to physical damage to property that consists of tangible personal property used for the production of income, an improvement to real property or manufactured home that is used as a dwelling.

The property must be located in an area declared by the governor to be a disaster area following a disaster.  Governor Abbott declared Kerr County a disaster area on July 17, 2026.  Taxpayers have 105 days to file for the exemption with the deadline being October 30, 2026.

*** ADOPTED Kerr County FY 2026-2027 Budget *** (PDF)

On Monday, Sept. 14, the Kerr County Commissioners' Court unanimously (5-0) adopted the Kerr County FY 2026-2027 Budget and a new property tax equal to the No New Revenue Tax Rate of $.4081 per $100 valuation.

This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s budget by an amount of $760,710 -- a 2.2% increase from last year’s budget. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $646,565.

1. Look up your property here

2. Search for your property. The 'owner search' is the best way to find a property.

3. Select the property VIEW DETAILS link.

4. Click on the 'Pay Taxes' link and note the 'total amount due.'

5. Follow the payment instruction steps.

On-line payments generally are processed the next business day. Please allow at least one business day for payments to be reflected on the property tax record. The Kerr County Central Appraisal District is responsible for property assessment and owner information. Please contact Kerr County Central Appraisal District to update the contact information on your property record.
