Local residents advised that text is not from Kerr County
🚨𝗕𝗘𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘🚨
Kerr County Clerk Nadene Alford advised local residents this morning on Election Day, Nov. 4, that a text being sent is not from Kerr County, Texas.
The text claims the recipient is not registered to vote. It then asks for that person's driver's license number and their Social Security number.
This text is NOT coming from the Kerr County Voter Registration Office or the Kerr County Elections office.
"We would never send out a text to voters asking for that information," Alford said.
Please, never give out your personal identifying information (PII) such as full name, driver's license number, Social Security number, credit card details, bank account information, US Passport number or anything else similarly sensitive in nature in response to a text message. Also...
⚠️ Do NOT reply to these messages or click any links they may include.
These types of texts are not official communications. Scammers use them to collect personal information.
