Vets urged to take online class on Gulf War exposures
Kerr County area veterans are being urged to take an online class which will focus on Gulf War exposures to harmful materials and the possible related health problems veterans could be experiencing in subsequent years.
The class is planned from 12:30-2 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, and will be available to veterans virtually via a personal computer, smartphone or tablet.
“This class is being hosted over the internet through WebEx, an easy-to-access meeting platform,” said Jenna Sanchez, Kerr County Veterans Service Officer. “If you have a personal computer, smartphone or tablet, then you can easily attend this informative session.”
Content to be covered will inform veterans about potential hazardous materials they might have been exposed to, the findings of various research studies, the effects of exposures on health, available resources to veterans and steps to manage symptoms.
Veterans who want to attend the class can view the class flyer, as well as obtain the registration link by clicking the "Download Article" button.
Logging into the class will begin 15 minutes prior to its start time.
Anyone who has trouble registering is asked to email NJWRIISCEDTEAM@va.gov with “Gulf War Class” in the subject line.
Presenters for the class will include Omowunmi Osinubi, MD, MSc., MBA, FRCA, ABIHM, IFM-CP, and Edward C. Shadiack III, DO, MPH.
