Veterans urged to sign up for free VA virtual class

U.S. military veterans who were exposed to open burn pits during their service some time over the past 30 years are being urged to attend a March 7 online class about airborne hazards and related illnesses.

Some 4 million U.S. Armed Forces veterans who were deployed at any time in the last 30 years were exposed to burn pits, according to Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough.

That’s why veterans are being urged to sign up for the VA’s free, upcoming virtual class titled: “Airborne Hazards and Burn Pits: What You Need to Know.”

“This class will be conducted online on Thursday, March 7, from 12:30-2 p.m., and veterans can attend through their personal computer, smartphone or tablet,” said Kerr County Veterans Service Officer Jennifer Sanchez.
