Tracy Soldan represents Kerr during 'County Treasurers Day at the Capitol' in Austin
Kerr County’s own treasurer, Tracy Soldan, recently participated in a “County Treasurers Day at the Capitol” in Austin.
Soldan was one of about two dozen members of the County Treasurers’ Association of Texas who gathered April 8 at the Texas State Capitol to share ideas and celebrate the vital role treasurers play in county government.
Throughout the day, these elected officials had the opportunity to meet and speak with legislators about the work they do in their respective communities.
“The conversations were meaningful, and the entire event reinforced the partnerships shared between local and state governmental representatives,” Soldan said.
A highlight capping the day was an ice cream social, during which the treasurers and state legislators, their staff members and their constituents were able to have fun in a relaxed venue adjacent to the Capitol.
Soldan first decided to run for public office in 2011, when the previous county treasurer retired. She won the support of local voters and became the next Kerr County treasurer.
She brought with her to the position a history of public service, already having served as Kerr County’s assistant auditor.
She was named the 2023 Texas Outstanding County Treasurer by the County Treasurers’ Association of Texas, is a past president of CTAT, was recognized in 2023 for her commitment to worksite wellness and for creating a good-health culture for county employees by being named an honorable mention recipient of the Texas Association of Counties Iris Stagner Award and she was one of 20 county officials statewide to complete the TAC Leadership 254 program in its 2019-2020 season.
Currently, she serves as an officer on the 2025 board of directors for the TAC Risk Management Pool.
In addition to fulfilling duties as the county treasurer, she also is the designated chief investment officer for Kerr County.
The Kerr County Treasurer’s Office is located in Suite 100 in the lower level of the Kerr County Courthouse Annex, 700 Main Street in Kerrville. It may be reached by calling 830-792-2276.
