NO TRUCKS allowed on Cade Loop Bridge due to safety concerns
Kerr County officials are enforcing the “EMERGENCY PASSABLE” status of the Cade Loop Bridge in Ingram, which means that no trucks are allowed to cross it.
“We are doing this out of a concern for our citizens’ safety and for the structural integrity of the bridge,” said Kelly Hoffer, road administrator for Kerr County Road and Bridge.
“Right now, every time a heavier vehicle crosses over the bridge, the ground literally shakes. We’re worried that repeated use of heavy vehicles will cause damages that will end up costing the county and its taxpayers even more to fix the bridge in the long run,” she said.
The Emergency Passable designation means that only cars and emergency units responding to a call are permitted to use the bridge.
