Local residents cautioned against scammers in wake of this week's storm

"Every time we have some type of severe weather event that causes damages to homes, vehicles and more, a lot of people pretending to be contractors come out of the woodwork to scam residents out of their money," said Kerr County Emergency Management Coordinator William B. "Dub" Thomas.

The information contained in the posters below comes from the Texas Department of Insurance and is designed to help residents prevent themselves from being scammed by fraudulent contractors.

"Please take a minute to review these great reminders of what to watch for when it comes time for storm recovery," Thomas said.Anyone in Kerr County who suffered damages from this week's hail storm should be very wary when it comes time to selecting a business to help with repairs.
