Early voting in primaries to continue through March 1
Early, in-person voting in both the Republican Party and Democrat Party primaries will continue throughout the weekend and all next week before coming to an end on Friday, March 1.
Registered Kerr County voters can make the most of early balloting by voting at their convenience at either of two locations – the Hill Country Youth Event Center, 3785 TX27 in Kerrville, or the West Kerr County Courthouse Annex, 510 College Street in Ingram.
Hours for the remainder of the early voting period are:
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday Feb. 23;
7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24*;
Noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25*;
7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday, Feb. 26-March 1.
*Please Note: Voters who plan to cast their ballots at the Hill Country Youth Event Center on Saturday or Sunday, Feb. 24-25, should note that, because the gun show is running at the same time, they are being asked to enter through Gate 2 and utilize the eastern side of the lot for parking. “Thus far, in the first couple days of early voting, there has been an incredibly exciting amount of voter participation,” said Kerr County Clerk Ian Collum, who now serves as the elections administrator.
“As early voting continues through the weekend and next week, I encourage all voters to join us at the Hill Country Youth Center or the West Kerr County Courthouse Annex. Both locations offer a handful of different ways to make your voice heard, including curbside voting, electronic voting and voting by paper ballot, so come out and cast your vote,” Collum added.
Ballot by mail
Friday, Feb. 23, by the end of the day, marks the deadline for applying with the county elections office for a ballot by mail.
To be eligible to vote early by mail in Texas, a voter must be: 65 years or older, sick/disabled; out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting; expecting to give birth within 3 weeks before or after election day, or be confined in jail (but otherwise eligible to vote.)
